San Francisco Residential Design: An International Perspective

June 21 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Please join the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition and HASSELL for a breakfast discussion about designing residential communities that people love with an international perspective. The discussion will focus on the future of global cities like San Francisco facing increased density, the need to reclaim existing urban sites for residential use, and the complex challenges of affordability, displacement, community trust, and sustainability.

Along with these complexities and challenges, mixed-use and multi residential developments have to respond to a competitive market context and economic pressures. In order to succeed, developments worldwide must create a sense of meaning, connection and belonging for entire communities, from inception to completion.

In this discussion, we will consider how design-thinking can address these complexities and challenges, and apply HASSELL’s international experience and expertise to San Francisco’s unique challenges in the face of our housing crisis.
